The compiled The Touchstone Trilogy is now live on Amazon (US) and will filter through to the other Amazons.  [Will be doing the Smashwords version tomorrow.]

It will be interesting to see if it picks up sales - the cover gives off such a different vibe to the covers of the individual books (which are far more accurate to the tone of the story), and I've no doubt it's more marketable toward its target audience, but the price point ($8.99) is certainly less 'impulse buy'.  I might use it for Goodreads ads.

Caszandra has been going well for its first couple of days - over 200 sales between the US and UK stores (and one in France ;).

  2. Any chance you'll sell this on a buy and they make a hard copy & send it site?

  3. @ TheSFReader - I've sold 12 whole ebooks on Amazon France. It makes me feel very cosmopolitan!

@ Jenny - The individual volumes are already available as TPB. For the whole trilogy to be one book - that's over 800 pages unless I make the font nice and small and kill the margins. It's relatively easy to do, but I'd be surprised if there was the demand. Want a custom-made birthday present?

  4. Ooh, Yes please, it's really that long? It didn't seem to be when I read them (yet another sucked completely in characteristic). And well done on the French connection.

  5. That's...a lot of words.

Congratulations on the hot start for Cazsandra. I'm looking forward to reading it (still going on Voice of the Lost, which is too good to hurry through!)

  6. Hi, Andrea,

I just wanted you to know - I picked up STRAY in a giveaway - can't remember where - opened it up to read on Thanksgiving (Thursday). Finished it next day & bought LAB RAT ONE. Finished that last night & bought CASZANDRA this morning - almost done with it & wishing there was more. This is one of the most satisfying series I've ever read, so I thank you for utterly enthralling me for the last four days. ;-)

BTW, I totally love the cover for the trilogy. It quite captures my vision of Cassandra and I think it will draw many readers.

    Best wishes!

  7. I'm with Jenny I like to have my favorite books in hardback for the simple fact that they last me longer than a paperback ( though I doubt you would complain if I were to buy pb replacements for the ones I've worn out from reading!)

  8. @ Sharon - I love the idea of the entire trilogy being INHALED in four days. So glad you enjoyed them. :)

@ Anon - I really like the thought of being on the 'keeper' shelf. ;)

  9. Andrea,

You have become my "go to" author! Stray drew me in for free last month, but I've since bought everything else you published. I finally found some time & posted Amazon reviews. I am bubbling over with Gratuitous Epilogue waiting glee, and the mini synopsis of Hunting I found online sounds fascinating. I am truly eagerly anticipating all of your upcoming works. I used to read mainstream books, but (due to finances) had to start looking for diamonds in the rough. You've shown me that I definitely need to stop and smell the Rathen Roses (that was really cheesy, but I couldn't help it). THANK YOU!

  11. @ Megan - One thing I definitely appreciate about ebooks (self-published or not) is that the overall cost is a good deal less. Glad you've enjoyed mine!

@ Alexandra - You did wonders for my visibility on Amazon France Alexandra. :D

  13. It is actually a very accessible price considering how much you are getting. It is roughly the same price as a single paperback costs in the US at the moment. I sent it to my sister because I had been telling her how much she would enjoy the series. This way she has all 3 books up front...and I win the awesome sister award again!

  14. Alexandra, I'm a second French Reader, and was teasing in my first post, knowing I could qualify ;-P

As you, I began with Stray, had to buy Lab-Rat quite soon after, and due to Caszandra beeing unavailable, bought the other books...

Andrea, just finished Caszandra ! Thank you so much for your books ! Loved them all.
(Will leav reviews when I have time...)

  15. Hello, Andrea - First off, THANK YOU so very much! I downloaded "Stray" from Amazon as a free book about two weeks ago, and since then, my free time has (happily!) not been my own. I was immediately drawn in, and upon finishing Stray was thrilled to discover "Lab Rat One"! Again, I fell off of the family's radar until finishing it, and then I frantically searched for MORE - "Cassandra" appeared in my search results box like an answered prayer, and was immediately consumed...though I tried to stretch it out, make it last longer, alas I could not. I finished the book mere minutes ago, but I refuse to believe that I've finished Cass & her family's story. :)
Thank you SO much -- I haven't been drawn to a character as I am to Cass since Anne McCaffrey's Menolly! Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go start reading "Stray" again. Oh, and bully the rest of my family into reading it!!

  16. @ Alexandra - I don't think it would be possible for me to stop writing, but comments like yours certainly buoy me up when I'm stupidly comparing my sales figures and other pointless authorial exercises. It's been wonderful to have readers look forward to and devour one of my books!

@ MK - I wish my sister would produce books I wanted to read! She doesn't read SFF (but I've been making her read mine anyway :D ).

@ TheSFReader - glad you liked the way it all panned out! And thank you (and everyone else) for the reviews. Although many people claim to discount reviews, they still are a large factor in saleability.

@ Thinggtwoo - I was a big fan of Menolly as well! What a nice comparison. :) [I'm working on Gratuitous Epilogue at the moment, which is a freebie short taking us through the next two years (and could be subtitled "Maze's new career" I think. ;) ]

  17. I'm really glad to hear that Caszandra has gotten off to a good start! I hope that it, and the entire trilogy, continues to sell well!

After Christmas, when I have a bit more cash (I hope!) to spend on myself, I plan to begin reading some of your fantasy novels. I tend to be a bit more of a fantasy fan, anyway, so I'm really looking forward to treating myself!

  18. @ Amelia - I hope you enjoy them! They're rather different from Touchstone (other than featuring a lot of female characters doing things).

  19. I have to say that I too got Stray as an Amazon freebie, a few days ago I got around to reading it, was hooked almost immediately and ended up purchasing the Touchstone Trilogy even before I was halfway through Stray. I didn't get too much sleep for a couple of days.... I absolutely loved it and am looking forward to reading your other works.

Thanks so much for your books!
